Update: This one works better and has a LED, that other one was just a preliminary test circuit. Here's where I took most of the circuit from.

Thanks Uzzor! :) this makes life a lot easier since I have the correct sized zeners already.
wonder if it will work with the microscopic transformer from the Kodak "Fun" flash. Pen sized Geiger anyone?
I was looking into using a small LCD display from an old step counter as the radiation indicator but the problem here is connecting to it. Perhaps some sort of bargraph (made one of these a while back out of a cheap pen mains sensor)
