lucky me today i hit a super jackpot on the curbside with a ricoh laser printer. this thing was a monster and i knew it had a hv supply in it to energize the drum to attract toner but anyway this is what it had. i also know that it runs from 24v but the million dollar question is what wire is the 24v in because i found ground it is the second one on the left but i was wondering if there is any way to test what the v+ is without blowing it out.

You'd be better unsoldering the transformer and driving it with your own circuit, they make just very small spark in the original circuit, with external driver ~2-3cm arcs can be gotten out before it starts to overheat.

The signs on the electrolytic capacitor and the polarity of Q1 and Q2 (if you can identify them and get data sheets) will give you some paths that you can trace around the board.

i tryed the electrolyc capacitor thing but i did not get aany output so in going to check out some datasheets and see if i can find anything out there.

There is an enable input, hook powr to the biggest lytic on the board and test all the wires from the same supply but with a 100-1000ohm resistor in series to avoid blowing it up.
if nothing happens, try sam thing but touch all wires to ground.
