I've started work on a coil made from nothing but parts i have found at the tip (although i have given myself some money for it for crimp on connectors, foil, salt and bolts thats it, all wire including the primary and secondary must be from the tip/dump/hard rubbish collection a hint on secondary wire try degauss coils from TVs) so far i have the secondary... capacitor, power supply, and secondary made all i need to make is a spark gap (could be fun I'm running a twin MOT doubled supply)and a primary
id like to lay down the challenge.. with a 30 second vid of the coil running on youtube

You can make a DC sparkgap Tesla coil out of the parts from one microwave oven only plus some hot glue. Sparks were max 1/2 inch and it wouldn't have lasted 30 seconds due to cap heating and breakdown. Making one with tip parts should be easy if you have a MO plus other junk.
