And, its very bad idea to connect gate of mosfet directly to NE555.
If you don't roast it 555 will heat up hugely and oscillation may be disturbed.
Also mosfet will have slow transistents because of low peak gate current and it will heat more.
In my flyback convreter single mosfet that drives BDT uses push-pull of BC337 and 308, and they use to overheat on higher duty cycles, so I stacked more of them and still have problems.
