Im debugging my 1st sstc which has something wrong with feedback circuit because it looses feedback and drops out of resonance when i apply more than 100V to bridge. I would like to connect my old trusty Tektronix 2235 to SSTC and actually watch what is happening. But is it safe? I have tested gate waveforms without secondary coil just 555 oscillator feeding calculated Fres freq to feedback and they were fine. I might be a bit skeptical because not so long time ago i fried almost 200e DMM with other HV related measurement

As you can see, my scope is quite close to my SSTC, and I haven't had any problems so far, but YMMV. Of course there's always a risk, so I prefer using one of my cheap scopes for this. Any cheap 20MHz analog scope with a usable trigger should be sufficient for SSTC work, so if you can find a cheap one, it might be a good idea to get it for dirty work like this.
