OMGWTFBBQ quad post of DEWM!!!!^

You NEED heatsinks on the mosfets!
EDIT:I needed one because I was using it for induction heating.

And i'm not sure its a good idea to build it on a breadboard.

1st pic = powdered iron toroids from computer power supply's
2nd pic = primary wound on the ferrite core of the flyback
3rd pic = my inductor and cap

EDIT: it dumped my pics!!
EDIT2:fixed

I can easily get away with no heatsink. As long as you don't saturate the core the losses are almost non-existent, which is the point of zero voltage switching. Using a breadboard is no problem at flyback frequencies. Like Jmartis says it should work straight-away if you follow the schematic. Have you found the correct ground wire on the flyback/ tested it with another driver? Just touch the HV wire to the pins on the bottom of the flyback.

i dont need the heat sink..i just want to et a single arc and when i know it is a good circuit i will put the on good heatsinks and pump 24-36 volts into it

I agree with Uzzors, my heatsink stayed totally cool even when my primary was burning...

I think this circuit works with mosfets only.

Microwave capacitors have internal bleeder resistors. I have no idea if that would affect the operation of this circuit though.

ok when i have the flyback hooked up correctly no current is drawn.but when i turn the power on it pull a few amps.i still get no sparks at all!i guess i need new zeners?because i got some from a moniter circuit board and the dont work either.i am taking the whole circuit apart and rebuilding it!
