im trying to make a general use full bridge driver from feq from 50khz to 500khz does any one have any suggestions i plan to use it for mainly home made transformers flybacks and sstcs

I think you can use a TL494 or other chip from Computer Power Supply (PWN controller) that can oscilate to 300kHz some of these goes up to 400kHz. Its not 500kHz but its very good for adjust, and you have dead time control on TL494 (maybe others too). Thats help to the FET's doesnt get too hot. Make a good and smooth power supply.

If you use the VCO on the 4046 you can have a massive frequency range, but no power control. I would use either the TL494 or SG3525, and just accept the smaller frequency range, because at least then you have duty cycle control. With a SG3525 and a few gate drivers this could be done quick and easy.
I based my gen-purpose inverter on a TL494 and added over-current shutdown since it runs so many different loads. The only thing I regret is not installing larger heat sinks and a fan, or at least over-temperature shutdown.
