Finally I got it run off main without blowing up anything. The credits must be given to Steve W, Mates and Kizmo who help me very much during the progress.

I am still using a small secondary recently wound for my MicroSSTC, with 110v input it produce 9cm sparks and sounds like a broken French Horn.

Primary: 4 turns direct on secondary.
Secondary: Unknown turns, resonates at 6xxkhz
Input voltage: 110v

Here are some photos(a large space behind half bridge is left for the cooling fan)

I have an experience that winding the primary straight on the secondary gives much worse performance than if you leave a small air gap. I think is it better to use more turns if you want increase the coupling. Air is the best insulator (it has much higher restitance than the PVC, PP, PU isolation). You can check during the the night when the coil is running wheter you see corona froming (blue light) close the the contact of those two windings. In case you see it than it is not good...

OK. I'll do that.
As for the corona discharge, I see that on the wire connected to the discharge terminal even it has been covered by much layers of PVC tape. I am trying to spray some epoxy on them to see if it will do better than tape.

P.S: My parents start to complain about the noisy discharges cheesey

Looking good!

Now you just need more power... Are you running full wave or half wave rectified input? Half wave will give longer sparks. Also, try putting a small topload there, that should help too.

Also, use some form of insulation between the primary and secondary... I tried winding the primary on the secondary for my Mark II coil and suffered some serious insulation breakdown there. I was probably a bit out of tune, so that might have also played a part in it.

Happy coiling!

I am running full wave, maybe one day I'll try half wave 220v

The only problem I didn't receive my new scope.(Weird, the supplier says they did send it.)
So I don't really know how my waveform looks like.
However, it seems works fine when running full wave 110v.

Well, I add a stainless steel sphere, now the sparks reach 14cm amazed
