Okay, I've been very slowly gathering parts for a BIG Tesla Coil and I was playing around with the Steve Ward style driver and made a few changes to suit my needs.
Of Course it works exactly the same way I just wanted to eliminate a few parts. If anyone sees any problems let me or thinks it might now work for whatever reason let me know. I will probably add an option for an external interrupter for the real version.

1. First you may need to put some 0.1uF caps on the input and output of those 78xx voltage regulators for stability. Check the datasheets. I typically put a 0.1uF on both input and output.
2. You need protection diode from output to input on the 78xx series regulators. When you disconnect power, you have a large output cap which will tend to discharge back through the regulator damaging it. A diode prevents this.
3. I don't like the diodes you are using for D1 and D2. Too slow. Use a fast diode such as a 1N5819 etc...

Well I made a few mistakes on the one shot but it's fixed now. Everything works. Haven't tried it on an actual coil just yet. A few cap values were wrong as well.
