This is a shameless brag thread, simply because I'm excited as hell.

Behold, my brand new Toyota Landcruiser BJ42. I had it shipped over from New Zealand as the diesel variant was never sold in the US. Of course, its right hand drive.

Why the BJ42 -- some particular thrill? Is it rare? =P

Bloody good car!! I have a Fj45 myself on gas. Yours looks like it's in spanking good condition.
Great score!! They just don't make em like that anymore.
What year is it? I've got power steering in mine which is a god send, not after market either,
was standard in the final year they ran them, which is 84.

you have a 45?! Diesel 40's are rare in the states, but a 45 is like a unicorn, you lucky bastard!! picture?

This one is an '82; no power steering or AC, but I've got strong arms. Its in pretty good shape, with the exception of the monkey who rewired it. I've got a theory that, since the voltages aren't lethal, idiots are enabled to tinker with the wiring in a car moreso than, say, in their house... so when i picked this one up, no lights in the rear worked, one front turn signal lit orange, the other one white, one headlamp, and a dead flasher. By the end of this weekend I've gotten everything fired up again except for the bright (stop) filament on the driver side brake light.

Are you planning on taking it off roading?

Heh, makes our '79 jeep CJ7 look commonplace. But then again, yours doesn't have front/back lockers (for rock crawling), a roll cage, winch, etc that we put on ours wink

Yeah, I intend to do some off roading. I took my current truck to Pismo a few months ago...

Here is a pic some time back when I got a call from a friend broken down about 500 km
out of Melbourne. I hired a car trailer and drove out, picked them up and drove them back.
She's a real work horse but I don't use her much anymore.
I've still got the dreams of doing it up and dropping a chev 350 into it.
Maybe when my son gets old enough to help me.

Nice! Whats in there now, 2F? 350 cruisers are a dime a dozen, I much prefer them with a stock, or at least toyota, powerplant.
