yeah me and my wife always go yardsailing. Also the local fleamarket is like the s(*&. My dad is always finding me radio and coil stuff there.

Are you looking for the large ones that don't have any diodes or other extras? If so, that can make your search more difficult, but they are out there.

Can be obtained from old colour or mono CRT monitors. Another potential source is the backlight modules from old LCD monitors or TVs, the 32" variety have a nasty habit of throwing their power supplies which if out of warranty usually means a $1200 doorstop.

Even if the LCD is cracked the backlight drivers and even the tubes are often fine, I have salvaged hundreds. Observe.

Craigs list under free you will find TV's. Make sure to discharge the tube carefully as a CRT can kill you even after it has sat on a shelf for months.
