So I just won my first scope on ebay, and I think I don't think the 10x probes it comes with are going to cut it. The scope maxes out at 5V/div, and even that "causes noticeable modulation" So thats a max of 400V peak-peak. It just not going to be enough, I mean, with the hobbies we have here on 4hv, I'm sure 100x, 1000x, and HV probes are pretty common.
Anyway, anyone has any 100x or greater probes they would be willing to sell, I would buy them. The scope is a Tek 2213A, 60MHz.
I figure at TC frequencies a resistive divider will be fine until I have HV probes (I have a big 10W 1000M HV resistor for just that purpose), but I would really like to have the proper probes. There are plenty of HV probes on ebay, but almost all are for DMMs. And buying new HV scope probes...forget it, they'd better be solid gold for those prices...

I use the Multi-Contact Isoprobe II x100 scope probes, they cost around $70 new from Farnell, and can handle a couple of kV.
BTW, making a HV probe that reproduces waveforms accurately for a scope, without loading the HV source excessively, is hard. You'll soon realise why they are expensive if you try making one yourself.
