Hi all.
I took this pice of junk to the garage for an overheating problem. They changed the radiator, thermostat, etc and flushed the system.

Went to drive it to town last night, and something mechanical gave way in the gearbox, giving symptoms of a stretched clutch cable.

So I checked. The lever is moving just fine but it won't go into gear and/or jumps out of gear. Reverse does not work AT ALL! (grindy crunch grind)

any ideas? i had to "limp" it all the way to the bridge in third gear, using the ignition key as a sort of clutch. (Bad idea I know) especially with all those damned FRICKING ROADWORKS GRRRRRRRRRRRRR frown

New clutch did the trick. First gear is still a bit "grunchy" but hopefully that is just cosmetic. (exhaust related?) seems to go away when warm.
