I forgot to mention, the transformer i am using, i only rewound the primary (3+3 turns, center tapped) leaving the original secondery intact.(just because i can't remove it without distroying the ferrite core.) may be that has somthing to do with it?

A guy on anouther forum said:

The output of the flyback is in the order of 20-40kV, so charging a 450V capacitor with it will not work

but on uzzors sit he actually calls it a capacitor charger, saying:

The charge time to 430V on a 3.29mF capacitor bank was clocked to 6.3s

But the flyback has been rewound with about 300 to 500 turns instead of the thousands of turns in a flyback which hasn't been changed.

A TV/monitor flyback will not charge caps unless you rewind it entirely. There is not enough current available. And if there is, your 450v caps will explode.

Build this one: Link2 or a variation of this: Link2 I built the second one and it can easily be adjusted between 200-300v, and even higher if you use a higher voltage mosfet (i use IRF830 which is good to 500v) and change the voltage divider. I do need a better inductor core for sustained power output but it's quite fast at charging caps.

As for the flyback drivers, i don't really know as i haven't built one yet.
