Just to poke one thing, DON'T even think about using enameled wire for your GDT. Ever. It will arc over, blow your ferrite, your bridge and your drive electronics.
Just use CAT5.

As I see, the GDT in first pic is 1:1:1? Are you going to change that?

Also, I don't think you need even closely the number of turns shown - make sure to calculate it B = ( V x t ) / ( N x Ae ).

On much smaller core than this I was fine with just 6 turns for 100kHz and 15V...

Yes, I am going to change the GDT, I just ordered a couple more ferrite cores from Goldmine. One thing that is deterring me is winding the current transformer/feedback transformer (two 1:33's and a 1:200) according to Steve's design:

Any tips for the 1:200? I'm not looking forward to it tongue

I don't see why to use 1:200, it would be pain to wind.

Stacked transformers should be fine for beginning, everybody uses them...

its not really that hard to wind. i have wound several 1:200 for feedback. i dont like the idea of stacking. i want to be sure and wind it on a single core. i take a rod and wind a spool of wire on it, so that its thin enough to put through the hole. thats it. the only bad thing that can happen is, that you´ve calculated the wireleght wrong

Finally made it home to work on the project a little bit!! So far, tonight i finished the MMC- its 8 of the 942C caps, with a 10meg resistor across each of them. The bolt connectors are brass, and will be soldered down to the copper on the back of the PCB. The PCB is 2oz copper, as will be the full bridge board. Thats just what I did in the first day of thanksgiving break, hopefully i can make some more progress in the next 5 days! cheesey

One more update as of today: I got the full bridge section done- it consists of a voltage doubler using two 30A diodes (smaller heatsink), two half bridge sections (820uf *6 in each half), and the IGBTs are the IRG4PC50UD type. under the snubber capacitors are 440V TVS, one for each IGBT, and under the heatsink are the resistors for the gates. Now for the control board...

Wow that looks pretty beefy. If you get a short theres going ot be some serious current dumping.

Atleast now when your IGBTs fail, you'll hear it tongue
The large amount of filtering won't probably be a problem, though. When the your bridge shorts, it's dead anyway. This way you atleast get a nice bang too cheesey

Umm... Put something between your IGBTs and the capacitors? I'm worried that flying shrapnel will dent a cap or two... Well maybe I'm paranoid. But still.
