When you complete that ZVS, I bet it would make a great video. I bet it'll also set some zvs/flyback world records, like highest Vin and most watts. Coming soon: The solid-state Pole Pig! (SSPP)

Edit: OMG one of my threads finally reached the 2-page mark! woot!

Sulaiman, I guess you're thinking that you won't beable to achieve a high enough loaded Q? The fix would be to either use a huge airgap in the ferrite core, or connect an air-cored tuning inductor across the ferrite transformer.

Steve Ward made a Solid-State Pole Pig last year, using the series load resonant converter topology. Link2

Having too low Q is exactly opposite from 'not having enough power'... as steve says you'l actually need ballast to avoid blowing fuses.

No huge airgap is needed, just a small one to give primary some leakage inductance.

Two small additional primary inductors or secondary ballast would probably work well too.

I bet it'll also set some zvs/flyback world records, like highest Vin and most watts. Coming soon: The solid-state Pole Pig! (SSPP)

Such a 'world record' doesn't make much sense since very few flybacks will last for long with more than some 200W going in. More than yar ago someone pumped a kilowatt or so into a flyback under oil and produced huge SSTC-like arcs, but not for long...
