If your GDT isn't made from ferrite, it certainly should be. From your waveforms it looks like you used iron powder or something, because you are getting a very high magnetizing current. Your driver chips may run hot or burn out.

ok so here are some pics from the scope. They could be used for some nice DRSSTC modeling as they are real not generated from P spice.
Also to all I was using an iron powder core and am getting a new one today. cheesey

I would like to know what you think

ok so I have another scope image after my GDT and I finally built a good one with a nice core the square waves are perfect but the waves follow a strange pattern and then have a weird sine wave ring after. ill post later.

Edit

Ok so Now I bought $200 worth of acrylic to make everything from the container to the secondary mount out of but I realized there should be a farade shield around the box so now I ask you all how should I do this I love the clear acrylic and UV LEDs I don't want metal but I will have a 6"OD 4ft tall secondary so I think I need some protection I do have a strike ring though. I would love suggestions.

that is really nice you did a great job with you plexy this is my first time and im only 15 so I really like my primary my housing is also plexy but its enclosed. I am awaiting my 6000ft of wire and PVC tube for my secondary and I will soon have sparks but I still caint afford a $500 cast aluminum toroid.

What A Pretty Primary.

I like it
(and I'm jealous too)

Just curious, is your new primary 6" x 48" wound (H/D = 8 seems high)

I had another question do you think I could get 3ft streamers from a half bridge of 30N60s I dont think so but I am going to have allot of cooling. another thing is I will be using some bigger IGBTS after I get it running but they are TO-270 I think not the block.
