well since this is a forum for high voltage stuff i though it would be interesting to see who has been shocked by the highest voltage. Well to start it off, i have been hit by 60kv off a 2 ignition coil setup. What's the highest voltage you have been hit by (lightning counts as well but if you have been hit by lightning and survived please let me know ) some other things i have been shocked by is... camera flash. 240 volt mains. 10kv from a piezo ignitor. Not much more at the moment, but i am building a marx generator, so if it works properly, 100kv if i'm unlucky.

There was kinda an unwritten rule about discussing said things,... but in any case I would say that more important than voltage would be current or joules. Of course the highest voltage I have been hit with would be from a VDG (probably 100kv) folowed by my VTTC (not sure how much voltage she has, probably about 50kv)
Unintentional shocks include.... I took a 1uf cap at about 3kv (microwave cap) across the chest once, a 1kv/15uf cap from my finger to my arm, a 300v/150uf cap from my finger to my arm (my finger smelled kinda burnt after that one) a 7.5kv/20ma nst from my elbow to my knee, a few nf at 10kv across my hand, and numerous hits from a 1ma/20kv HFAC supply.
To tell you the truth, I am amazed that I am alive today. The exceptionally scary part would be that I would not consider those events the closest I have been to killing myself.
I have almost been hit by lighning, I was climbing Mt. Whitney and a storm rolled by that had about a 20 strikes within 100 yards of me, and 100 strikes within 500 yards. It was certinly an interesting experience, it was sunny and we noticed some clouds rolling over the pass, so we decided to have lunch before starting to climb it. Within 5 minutes there was a light rain, 5 minutes later there was heavy rain, shortly followed by hail, and then the storm got stuck in the bowl we were in and just struck everything. That was one of the coldest 2 hrs of my lift, sitting in ice water with a fleece and thin shell of breathable plastic.
