I'll be trying to make a small marx generator in the next few weeks (~10 stages, 30kV, 500pF/stage), probably using these caps. Problem is, I haven't been able to find any suitable resistors
I'm reluctant to use film resistors, as the high voltage causes inevitable failure with enough shots, and gradually changes the resistance before that. Been looking for some high voltage resistors, or some carbon composition ones to string together. Anybody have some to spare? Best I've found on ebay are these , but they are a tad expensive, although they should be able to withstand 10kV?
If anyone has some extra caps / resistors, and wouldn't mind shipping to Australia I would love to hear from you

Those are very similar to the resistors i use in my 25kV charging voltage marx bank. Only very rarely have they flashed over, and even still they survived fine. Also, the price is rather good considering they are 2W resistors.

I have many 2M2 0.5W Metal Film resistors, Type VR37 which is a high-voltage range, 3.5kV peak rated. For specifications go to and type VR37 into the search box.
10 in series per 'Resistor' would give 22MOhm 35kV peak rating I think you'd need 19 sets, for example, 190 pieces total.
I would sell 200 for 10 uk pounds, plus p&p which shouldn't be too much, if interested I'll get a firm p&p cost (pay me via PayPal)
Look on eBay for similar items, maybe cheaper. Consider first how to neatly/easily/quickly make sets of 10 resistors. Maybe single more expensive resistors would be better?
