Well it has been a while since I finished the coil and brought it in to school, but I thought I'd give a little update. I finished the coil and it ran pretty good, made about 5"-6" dishcarges. The final configuration was PLL driver with a halfbridge and halfwave rectified non filtered 110V. It was the best lookin thing I have ever built and I was pretty sad to give it away, but I guess it'll be pretty cool when other classes in the future get to see it. I didn't end up getting pictures because my camera battery was dead and then I got forgot to get pictures later. My friend did get a little video on his phone though so here it is. Update.
Hey like a year and a half later a friend of mine managed to get me some picks of the little bugger at the school. Apparently my old physics teacher loves the thing and is always showing it off haha It's good to hear that they are actually using it because it is the last tesla coil I built and I've been needing some sparks... Anyways I think it ended up really nice, I'm almost surprised it has run reliably for a year.
