Hi all,

I just got a new job as a university research fellow in high voltage engineering. It's an industrially sponsored research contract to develop instruments for predicting faults in those big truck-sized substation transformers well before they actually happen. It will be mostly programming and prodding tiny ICs with way too many legs, but the fact of the matter is, HV isn't a hobby any more, it's my day job!

So I would like to say thanks to everyone who encouraged me to mess around with HV over the years, in particular Terry Fritz, Richie Burnett, Alan Sharp, Finn Hammer, and the many other folks on Pupman, TCBOUK, and of course here. Terry is probably most to blame for giving me those IGBT bricks that ended up being the heart of the OLTC2, and Finn also sponsored me to do some pretty hardcore coiling.

I may not be around here much for a while, since changing jobs always seems to cause a period of total chaos. But ah'll bee back! suprised
