I am having a bit of trouble finding information on homemade hv accurate resistors. I need two 1Kohm resistors for a filter for my nst. Can I use a bunch of small 1k resistors in parrellel to up the voltage handling? if so, what would the equation be, just adding the voltage of each resistor?

You need to put the resistors in series since the voltage accross each resistor is what counts. If you put them in parallel the voltage accross each resistor will be the same (but not the current).
If you put 10 one hundred Ohm resistors in series you will get 1 kOhm and 10 times the voltage rating (within certain limits).

Terry Fritz is the guy who designed the Terry Filter in the first place, so I think whatever resistor he recommends will work just fine, wirewound or not.

I have a pair of L100J1K0E Ohmite's as listed above.
You'll be happy with them.
My first version for my terry filter used a 4x5" perf board filled with various 1/2 w resistors and it was flaky as it could get. Deff don't go that route.

edit:
Double Take... hey... Terry Fritz is here...cool...mind taking a glance at my filter, tell me if it look right?
