Looked on ebay, it seems everything offered is from former USSR states which runs up shipping costs and wait time. Anyone know of a US based source for a clock project?

Look at old test equipment on eBay
counter, timer, dmm etc.

I bought a counter/timer off ebay just for the nixies
when the equipment arrived it was in good working order so I'm using it as-is cheesey

I think Surplus Sales of Nebraska has small Nixies.

What you need to remember though is that you also need the 7441's to drive them, and Surplus Sales has started to carry those as well.
Otherwise look for Systron Donner. Their older Military equipment uses Nixies.
