That usually leads to alot of confusion. Moderators will delete posts for you if it is necessary, just PM them.

Yes, generally speaking, this just leads to a lot of confusion when posts suddenly vanish. It can make people look like they've double-posted when they haven't, because originally there was a post in between. It can also cause replies to appear different because the context surrounding them is gone.

Perhaps a self destructing post. Whenever you make a new thread you can set it up to delete itself in XX number of days with the date listed in the title. After that date it gets deleted or closed automatically and nobody can say there was no warning. Plus that makes it easier because you don't have to remember to go back and delete your old ebay notifications.
