Holy smokes! Maybe I'm dumb and the last person to figure this out, but man oh man... Craig's List is *the* place to go for a shot at a free microwave oven. At least, if you're in a city/town with a Craig's List. In my home town of Seattle, WA, a search for "microwave" in the "free stuff" category produced 18 hits! amazed I pulled up the Craig's Lists for a couple of other major U.S. cities and did the same thing with similar results. You should too! I'm never paying money for a MOT again, ever! (not counting the gas required to drive out and pick stuff up, of course wink)

Some of these giveaways look pretty big and old, too. Mmmm.... tongue Maybe I'll luck into one of those illusive 4kV MOTs! amazed

Happy hunting!

My God your right!
Didn't realize Craigs's List is a gold mine of old microwaves, TV's, computer monitors. I searched 'microwave' under the free category and had 5 hits that where just posted today. I can even pick a location close to my house.
Back in the old days (1990s) we'd always wait for clean up week where every puts there junk on the curb. The internet is a wonderful thing.

Another source worthy of investigation is your local Freecycle list. Old microwaves, CRT monitors and TVs often come up and are a rich source of HV components.

Damn! I wondered why it got hard to find a free microwave on Craig's list all the sudden.

I have been using craigslist for a while now. Also try using freecycle, i have scored 2 big screen tv's, microwaves and several tv's and computer monitors there.
