This is my first real power supply, so now I can finally start doing some serious projects. I built it to be indestructible, and so far not even a direct short can wreck it. Currently the max power it can supply is around 480W, because of the wimpy 10A rectifier I had on hand. I was planning on a full kW, but maybe another time. Output voltages are regulated 5 and 12v at 2A and 50 volts at 9A. The regulated 5 and 12 volts are provided by 3 pin voltage regulators. The filter cap is a bit small on the 50 volt rail, but I doubt the ripple will be a problem. Short circuit protection is provided by a current sense resistor and flip flop, after tripping it can be reset by a switch or turning off the power.
