Fun things to do with crashed car parts?

Hi Guys,
out of general lazyness I have neither been on 4HV nor involved in any high voltage projects for the last couple of months. But now I aquired this gigantic mass of spare parts that just scream for being put into good use, that I need some ideas of what to do with it.

This is what I got: Link2 It's a rather sad story altogether, but neither my girlfriend, me, or our dog got hurt in the crash, so now I am trying to make the best of it.

The engine is still fine, the car is totalled just because it was only worth 2000€ before the crash, and reparing it would cost about four times that. Of course I am not going to throw away an (otherwise) perfectly good car, so now the question is what of the following I should do with it:

- build a sportscar in the LoCost fashion ( Link2 )
- build a helicopter, small plane etc.
- pull the engine and power a generator for insane 85kW HV projects
- pull engine, disassemble and break it, leraning something in the process

the last option is my favorite at the moment, since I dont have a garage to work on the whole car, but I think I can manage to hoist the engine into my flat somehow. Any other suggestions?
I hope I wont be forced to pull just the battery and the ignition coil and give the rest to the junkjard, because I am kind of emotionally attached to the car angry

Bummer about the crash! suprised Still, good to hear that nobody got hurt.

My car just failed its MOT Link2 and I ended up scrapping it. The engine was still good, but I don't have anywhere to work on a project that big just now frown I didn't even take the ignition coil, because the scrap guy needed to drive it onto the back of his transporter.

I did dismantle a car engine once, and it was great fun but incredibly messy.

Doh, sorry to hear about the wreck! Looks like it rolled? I did something similar once on an icey road, but it didn't turn out that bad, and fortunately it stayed the right way up!

Is it still a runner though? What's actually wrong with it, apart from aesthetics. Unless the chassis is totally out of alignment, looks like you could fit a new bumper, beat some of the dents out, and still use it as a car...? If you take it completely to bits you're going to have a lot of scrap lying around that's going to cost a lot to get rid of... (unless you turn it into a helicopter and fly it away cheesey )

I guess the best option is break if for parts, and sell them on eBay or in the paper or whatever.

Ouch! Sucks for your car, but it's good to hear that you guys are alright. It's messy here in Maine, and I just saw a couple similar accidents on my way to school today.

The LoCost looks like a lot of fun, but if you don't have a garage, you're pretty much out of luck. As much as I hate to say it, I think your final option is the most feasible. Save the ignition coil and scrap the rest, maybe keep the motor too if you want, though keeping it in your flat might be difficult..
