Hi all. This has been in the pipeline for a while but I finally worked out how to build it.
The basic idea is that many high voltage phenomena only show up in the infra-red if the energy is too low, or UV.
Its entirely possible that I can therefore see a lot of things which would normally be invisible (such as corona discharge at low energy) that would have some applications.
Basic format is a pair of goggles which have two or more cameras, each one optimised for different wavelengths of infra-red. The output signals are then fed into a decoder which merges the signals into a single colour PAL signal, where each camera corresponds to a different primary colour (red for far infrared, green for NIR, blue for UV)
This is then displayed on a small screen inside the goggles, taken from a surplus camcorder.
