I remember there being some discussion about this, whatever happened to that?
The impetus for this was my new phone, which can browse websites. I got a new phone because I'm moving overseas(to the Hague for work). Also important news I guess ;)
So Time Kone(if you read this), maybe I'll see you around.

The mobile 4hv never got beyond the 'that sounds like a fun idea' stage.
Although I would love to be proved wrong
I seem to remember that we were supposed to be able to make a mobile skin using the new forum software...
Considering that I have an internet enabled phone and an internet enabled palm (soon to be replaced by a hx4700 running linux if I get lucky) I would really appreciate a mobile skin.

Anyone is welcome to give it a shot. You will probably want to run an e107 sandbox to test it, but installation is as simple as unzipping an archive and chmod'ing a few files. It shouldn't be hard to get started.
The theme in use now is a version of Steve Dunstan's 'e107v4a,' modified by Chris Russell and Noelle Keyser. The unmodified theme comes standard with e107. The theme itself and the customizations for 4hv probably won't be very useful for small devices. The images are too large, and the layout simply isn't suited to small devices. I reccomend starting from scratch and making a simple, skinny theme. Navigation stuff (main menu and PM box) should probably be at the top, not the side, and user settings/online list etc could go at the bottom, as they aren't as important. I'm not sure if that's possible, so some experimentation may be necessary.
Opera provides some tools and tips for designing for mobile devices. This is particularly useful if you don't own a mobile device to test with.

Go BP I have waited years for someone to say that
If I may make one request... Try to keep the size (Kb wise) as small as possible as a lot of people here in the us (and probably abroad) have to pay insane rates on bandwidth. Like $10/Mb insane.
