I've run into some problems whilst building an ASCII -> 7X16 segment display converter (i feed it a serial stream of 7 X 8-bit ascii values, it displays them using 7, 16 segment LED displays). i won't go over the program because its a little long (400lines) to post. but i think one of my problems my lie in the addresses i have assigned as variables. looking @ the 16F877A datasheet (page 19) it looks like everything from 20h - 7Fh in bank0 is available for me to use for whatever i want. is this assumption correct? the reason i ask is that i have seen several PIC tutorial quote general purpose register ranges smaller than the indicated region on the datasheet (these tutorials were for various PIC models).
