Hi, is it normal for USB 3 to be as low as 37.7 MB/sec ?
The same drive in an ancient netbook and my C650 was over 62MB/sec on H2test.

That is a very good USB 2 transfer rate. Either you are not running USB 3 or the drive is not faster with whatever USB interface you are using.

I will check, as the connector is suspect (cough flaky DIY repair /cough) one or more pins may not be connecting.
Its a very old adaptor so possibly not genuine USB 3 or throttling.
