Hi,
After venture capital for a physics startup as thanks to a significant discovery here (namely UV annealing under O2 of HTSCs for patterning) I can now take a commercial Y123 or BSCCO disk and convert it into a superconducting antenna needing minimal cooling.
Looks like under certain conditions the laser can force oxygen into the material and my original idea was to use this for forming neural pathways but wireless antenna chip is a lot simpler.
The base is just simple BSCCO but by forming a second layer consisting of mixed heavy metal oxides and lighter ones which can be evaporated using MOCVD or even simpler methods then once the coil is formed attaching wires and sealing the lid/package.
Current status: it seems to show superconducting domains well into the 100C (+300K) range and resistance drops, now just need to fine tune some of the parameters. The Mott bulk is needed though as without this it simply won't work.
Interestingly by cooling it down the coil can be tuned, the material is strongly thermoelectric so feedback will be needed. Probably fitting it to a Peltier module similar to the ones in C's!o projectors would be required and for efficient operation you'd want to run it 30-50K below Tc anyway as mentioned earlier.

Well the time constant of the thermal components will need to be known well, or youll end up with oscillations above the critical frequency of tuning. I guess you can do that several ways with a good quality Peltier, but i dont know the power demands available for exactly what your doing. the power needed to control temp and or heat can get sketchy with peltiers.

Yes, this is indeed a problem. Actually most issues are due to wave shaping, which is why combining superconductors and metamaterials would be needed. A working device would likely use SiC semiconductors or a variant of a freewheel oscillator similar to the ones used on piezo transformers, in fact I looked into using a custom made one as a pre-driver for the tank.
Irony: I might have had this working 4 years ago but due to a few issues getting a 3D printer with sufficient spatial resolution it would have been nearly impossible. Also got scared off early on by some folks implying legal issues with importing HTSC disks which later turned out to be irrelevant (YBCO isn't even restricted)

I guess that a niche application will be required to kickstart this field as copper + fan is presently cheaper than HTSC + cryogenics, for a given power/VAR . . . Wake me up when room temperature superconductors are practical ;)
