Hi, can anyone use the following machines?
HP Mini S110, this one does (did) work but obviously no HDD. I can try and locate a spare drive but it works fine with my test 500GB. Battery OK but screen shroud damaged. Internal network N/G as is card reader Unusually the BIOS is socketed so this could be a good test jig for custom BIOS's etc.
Toshiba C660, has the infamous motherboard fault but may be repairable. see It runs fine for days if you heat it up which is a dead giveaway for stuffed GPU, won't work from cold. This one is just a shell but only really needs HDD, WLAN, screen etc and has an Intel CPU Will send with a battery holding at least some (<50m) charge if reqd.
HP motherboard from a different Mini (Atom DC), works but no heatsink or VGA connector (removed) I can reattach this part if needed as it was to add a pigtail.
Another HP laptop (455c) carcass, had slight minor liquid spillage but MB OK (keyboard issue) Can't get power switch but this one includes a quad core FGBGA AMD CPU and has up to 8GB RAM facility, battery etc so maybe suitable as a budget laptop?
If anyone would like these in the UK, please PM me, I may be able to ship elsewhere but be aware that batteries MUST be shipped ground ($$$) Also have a box of FETs and bricks as well if someone has a use.
Due to data protection issues I can't send these with OS's but will if asked provide a restore image. Can load it onto a 16GB pendrive for the 455c, others should be fine with just a x64 Win7, 8 or W10 -A
