Hi guys. i'm fond of making small tesla coils and now i was wondering if using a single mot with a single voltage doubler circuit could make for a nice power supply. Since the voltage doubler would make the outgoing power pulsed this would mean that i could use a static spark gap right? It wouldn't start arcing continiously? Also would i have to protect the voltage doubler circuit from kickback or anything? Any tips would be appreciated.

Long ago I made a DC coil like you are describing. Richie Burnett has a great site discussing the topic, although he doesn't mention using a doubler but it still applies.
