This thing works pretty good I just need to work out some issues and make a nice case for it all. It is just a simple Slayer but I am using a simple 555 interrupter switching a SSR that seems to work the best of course the SSR latches but works again after reset. What do you guys think of this one?
Very high energy discharge in to a screwdriver I wish I had a non touch screen camera.

Sorry for making you guys wait I'll have to make a schematic but it is literally a simple slayer the only cap I use is for the SSR it helps keep it from latching and I use a 280W computer PSU to power the boost converter. Soon I will get you more details but back to work.
I have found that FETs are cooking allot I think half bridge is what this coil needs.

I'm guessing it's not too critical but what are the values of the fixed and variable bias resistors on the gate of the MOSFETs?
Also do you have any idea what kind of duty cycle (on/off ratio) is OK for this circuit. i know that it may be dependent on the heat-sinking of the devices but any info you might have could be useful.

Well I actually forgot the values in the schematic the POT is 10K and the fixed resister is 1-10K which you will have to find what works best and the on off cycle is dependent on what the boost converter and PSU can supply in my example the heatsink is way over kill and could handle CW mode for a long time. Also my secondary is 680 turns of 29GA on a 3" ID PVC.
