Hi Guys :)
I just connected pic driven frequency generator to DC SSR and flyback last night for the first time.
It does appear you can approach the frequency of the spark gap.
ie. If I opened the gap more so the arc frequency is lower, you can then only approach that frequency with the modulation.
If the gap is very close you could easily play music, but the Tesla Coil wouldn’t be performing well.
Once power is increased though, my pic software gets frazzled and resets, even though it has it’s own battery.
So a tuned choke and separate supply isn’t enough to attenuate AC feedback from the DC SSR control IO properly.
