Scoping the Current Transformer output?

Is there any reason you could not scope the output from the current transformers that connect to the UD board itself when tuning?
I was thinking about this the other day, as i dont have a differential probe yet, and would this not work essentially the same way?
I can only assume that a differential probe is an isolated transformer that connects to your scope? Since we already have the current transformers doing this, we can calculate an accurate voltage output on the primary, so would this not be a reliable means of scoping the bridge output?
Maybe im missing something, but has anyone done this themselves?
