Yet another power outage triggered by cascade failure following high voltage transmission line problems (trees?)

You'd think someone would have noticed the problem before it became critical..

Interesting, all i noticed was a short dimming of the light at around 2100.
I dont remember any larger power outage since many years, the longest being about 4 hours when a truck drove against a power pole, cutting power for half of my small village 4 or 5 years ago.

For some reason I like power cuts tongue

They mean I have to get out the inverter and batteries, and it's somehow all good fun, and puts the meaning back into electricity usage cheesey We used to get them regularly here (like 4-5 times a year) but they aren't so often now frown

The last one we had was when I was working on an assignment for uni, and off went the computer. I had to power it up from an inverter to get the file onto my laptop.

I'm surprised an inter-country cascade failure is even possible, I thought each country was pretty much independent with their own electricity supplies...?
