It looks like Einstein was right 
"The gravitational wave signal was detected by physicists at LIGO on September 14 last year, and the historic announcement was made at a press conference this morning. Experts are already saying the discovery is a shoo-in for a Nobel Prize"

Edit: Reminds me of the old joke "Eddies in the space time continuum"...."Is he, how do we get him out?"

Yup. I saw that press conference live on Alisha's new phone. Effectively they detected three different events but only one was of good enough "quality" (ie the black hole merger) to be a sigma 5.1
This is astounding to say the least, also what about the other two events? 7msec also gives us quite a good estimate of the speed of gravity which is approximately C +/- 10% So Nobels all round, three cheers for the LIGO teams.
