I am looking into the ratings of SCR for capacitor discharge applications. 2 ratings that I have found to be relevant to this are
Itsm - Peak Surge (Non - repetitive) On-state current Itm - Peak Repetitive On-state current.
As per what I have read it seems the Itm rating of the SCR would have to considered for repetitive capacitor discharge applications.
However in the datasheet of the SCR I only find the Itsm rating. The Itm rating is nowhere to the seen.
Is the Itm rating derived from other parameters? Or is it only mentioned in some SCR datasheets which are meant for pulse applications?
The thyristor I currently have is from ST and part no. is TYN1225.

To give any advice its more important for us to understand what you actually want to do. Give us a schematic! Do you plan to just short circuit the capacitor? Do you plan to disipate the heat in a Resistor/Lamp or ESR only? Do you plan to discharge the cap into an LR-arrangement?
Anyway: what you want is basically the I2t-Fusing integral. Thats 310A²s in your case. But without knowing your current waveform.. there is nothing we can suggest or calucalte to tell you "yes it will work/blow"
