Ok so I have an idea for a "fast diode" replacement. Check attached schmatic. I tested it out and it works, My compont values are 1k for the resistor, A PNP transistor BC327 and a 12 volt zener diode. I am testing it at 12 volts from a computer power supply.
One of the interesting things about it is that, Considering a standard zvs schmatic, Is that when there is a negative voltage on one of the fast diodes, Would there not be a large amount of current going though it? But with this "replacement" there would not.
So I wonder wouldn't this be better? I personally like the idea of a bit more isolation between the tank and the power transistors gates. Also there is a bit more tinkering the can be done with this, Like when the transistor turns on/off.
It felt like a good idea, not so sure anymore.
