Is there some ideal airflow through a spark gap? The way I understand it now is that there would be a point of diminishing returns with quenching, but is it possible to actually degrade the performance of the coil with too much airflow? I was thinking about getting a server fan on steroids. I am only running a 240VA OBIT. However, a nice toroid and a hairdryer running on cold improved my streamers quite a bit. The hairdryer was just a stop-gap until I get a replacement fan. I have started a different thread on that topic, and had a really good suggestion. However, those high CFM fans are monsters. I don't want to over do it.
Thanks, Chris
