Hello,
For my new car i want to use head unit with Internet for navigation, and so on. But i don't exactly like idea to pay for extra SIM card just for head unit. And because it will use Internet, it can get expensive.

It will not be very hard for me to switch phone off when i get into car ( airplane mode) so my heat unit will take same number, and start to use Internet via 3G/4G connection

So the question is, does any one know anything about this stuff ? What would happen, if two same sim cards will try to register with different IMEI address ?

And only solution i found is to try to emulate SIM card with micro controller. Does any one try it ? I don't exactly have PIC programmer, since i would love to give a try, It would be so good for head unit to have same number so i don't have to pay extra for it.

It's quite much forget it.
Sim cards are made to never be copied.

Can you connect the car via wifi shared from the phone?

There was a guy that figured out a way to do this a few years back on the first generation SIMs.
IIRC, he died under rather mysterious circumstances shortly after publishing proof of success.
wink

The IMEI for both devices could also get blacklisted by the cell towers flagging the equipment as stolen phones...

A $10 SIM with G3 data only service is not that expensive.

10$ for car alarm, 10$ for garage alarm, 10Ä– for cell phone, and 10$ for navigation amazed

Why not equip your head unit with Wi-Fi, configure your phone as an access point, and let your head unit slurp the internets from your phones connection?

Did you try getting a used sim from eBay? I had success with that already. Paid less than a dollar for it. Also, check the prepaid "data only" plans for tablets.
