At work I just replaced the capacitors in a fairly large cap bank, the service was a routine refurbishment and the caps seem ok, I have only tested one so far ... c10 mOhm e.s.r. The caps look like this note that these have the mounting stud.
I hate to see them binned (zero value / scrap) so anyone who wants them can collect from WS9 8EQ ... free.
If no one wants them then they will probably be binned

If there is any way I can convince you to pack 8 of them and _send_ them to me, they will become a grand -and much needed- upgrade to Thumpers Busbank. Money, praise, almost anything... -I'l do it!

Finn, I agree that if they are in really good condition then they are well worth the p&p Wait until next week and I will test them, it will be simple tests during my lunch time. I can give a good indication of; leakage at 60 V, esr using a 'Dick Smith' esr meter and capacitance. it seems that even if a cap passes these tests it can still be near end of life (high esr due to electrolyte loss) and I've never found a simple test for that other than weight. When I took them out they all felt 'heavy', no sign of abuse and quite clean, we throw loads of used bus caps away (WEE waste) but these seem better than average. (and Rifa always seem well made / reliable) (Rifa ... Evox Rifa ... owned by Kemet like almost every other capacitor manufacturer)
Ash, since Finn has a specific use I'd like to offer him what he needs first, collection would be midday weekdays OR my home WS5 evenings or weekends.
