Does anyone have access to this:
"Relative spectral response data for photosensitive devices ("S" curves)," JEDEC Publication No. 50, Electronic Industries Association, Engineering Department, 2001 I Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006 (1964)

Cannot find the dang thing any where. I have a tube marked S-2. I need to know its spectral response.

Thanks!

These days anything not found with 10 minutes of Internet searching counts as a respectable challenge! Any chance your label once said S-20 or S-25? I found this Image with a curve for "Super S2", but on closer inspection it appears to be "Super S2 5".

from Link2

Good luck! What spectral range are you interested in?

Searching for "S2 photocathode" produces a few results and a description. - "S2 photocathode with larger spectral response. (from 180 to 900 nm), but reduced efficiency, being only 5% at its maximum." (larger and reduced being relative to another detector). The S response combines the photocathode and the window response so presumably your device has a quartz window.

This Link2 excellent handbook also contains some limited information:

S2 tubes were manufactured by various makers I did use one from Thorn EMI many years ago and 200nm to 900nm is correct as we used it on a spectrometer for looking at stars. We also cooled the PMT to -50 degrees celsius to minimise noise

NICE!

This is awesome stuff. I've pinged JEDEC for the archived publication. It wasn't scanned in 1997, hence not being listed on their site. They're looking into it tomorrow. I knew you guys would have something.
