I decided to take a look inside my fluoroscopy x-ray head. Here are some pictures:
This head came from real time x-ray fluoroscopy machine and was rated for 3.1mA 100kV operation.
I wiped everything down with isopropyl alcohol before opening the case because i want to keep the oil as clean as possible :)
Oily mess, but not too bad. I had to cut the wires as there was no easy way to disconnect them from the terminal block.
Transformer out of the box, its a iron core transformer that is designed to run at 140-400V and 300Hz.
Secondary is diode split
The transformer works on 50Hz too, but only up to 100VAC
Tube was surprisingly large and in very good condition. Anode is nice and shiny, filaments are good. I found out from the service manual that the tube is rated for 110kVpk 20mA operation in normal xray mode where exposure time is below 320ms.
