Could a faraday disc (homopolar) generator work with a rotary transformer used as the current path from the rotor to stator instead of brushes, or slip rings, if we use a changing magnetic field as the discs field source ofcourse?

But doesn't the return path from center to edge of disk have to be outside the stator field, Or perhaps I mean not rotating through it with the disk? Like if you attached wires to the circumference going to a transformer on the other end of the shaft and back to the disks center. I think I just can't see how to arrange it mechanicaly without having it resemble a loop that rotates. A similar problem is like if you had several disks on an insulated shaft and you wanted to series them without brushes you have to get from the edge of the previous one, back to the center of the next.
This is just a thought experiment by the way, I don't have any practical experience with these things so there's every chance I'm wrong.

Yes, this is the description of an eddy current motor. Tesla invented a type of induction motor.

Well yes Electra you kinda voiced my concern exactly , the faraday generator works only if one part of the rotating loop has a different velocity than the disc or is stationary, That's why I asked about the rotary transformer because theoretically if one uses a AC stator field for the disc , it should create some induction but I'm not sure would the rotary transformers secondary being stationary act like part of the loop.
