Been researching a boat and submarine for awhile, and decided to start building a boat.
Below pictures are of a wire frame, with a water level for 4.25 tonnes weight of 600mm above the keel. The skeletons is going to be made with plastic 15mm thick, cut from a local shop on a cnc, with soft 3mm plastic for the skin, plus a couple of layers of fiberglass.
Tied some string in the shape from rough drawings on paper, over the next week will be measuring the wire frame and fix errors and put it into a technical drawing.

Thanks for the links Ash Small, have you built something useing that tecnek, it looks like it wouldnt be strong enought with much framing inside.
I dont really want to change the system that I worked out at this stage, Cheers anyway.

They are incredibly strong. Very simple to build as well, and to design with a decent 3D CAD package. You literally stitch the pre-cut panels of ply together, then cover it in glass fibre. Couldn't be simpler.

I've worked on a few in my time, even welded a stainless steel one together once. Welded aluminium and steel are very common as well.

This project is more to test out the construction design, than catching a feed, the below picture is what im trying to test.
