Hey there guys. I'm back from a long break and i've been thinking. I want to condense the size of the tesla coil into basically a hand held version. I'm sure many of you have done this before, but I am looking to go the easy route. My goal here is to make a very light weight lighter, and I intend for this coil to be under arching conditions always. I've noticed it gets very challenging to miniaturize a coil because the Fo skyrockets as size decreases, and I am not looking to get an EE degree to accomplish my task. So my questions are these: If I were to use maybe 5-10 aircore potted current sense transformers(100:1) in series with a primary coil at the base, could I hope to lower the resonant frequency of a coil that would otherwise be in the MHZ? My thinking here is that a higher winding density will equate to a higher overall inductance. Would these coils be able to withstand 1-2KV of voltage potential between units? Dielectric breakdown and so forth seems it could be an issue. They Are rated for isolation to the outside of the package. And would the series connections cause unanticipated interference via stay inductance/capacitance? (or other issues)
well that's what i can think to ask now... Here is a generic link to an image of the devices im talking about:
Please forgive me if a post about this has already been made. There are alot of search terms associated, and most are misleading due to this device's popularity in other facets of tesla coil design.

since the pulse transformers are just 100 turns of wire on a ferrite toroid, and the wires are not necessarily well insulated from the core, as the isolation voltage is from the turn(s) through the hole to the pins. So you would have four inductors in series, well insulated from each other but not internally high voltage rated. I'd expect a high permeability (MnZn) ferrite toroid is used not as well suited to MHz's as NiZn. From an rf point of view, when series/base driven I'd expect the inductance of the toroidal inductors to swamp that of the air-core TC 'secondary', which would behave more like a lumped capacitance 'loading' the toroidal core inductance to resonance, just before a toroidal winding has an internal flash over. just guessing. or, if you are a sufferer of excessive good luck, it may work.
