Why would you want this? Unless you are planning on making prints that would fit on the side of a building, you don't need it. For regular use, it would just be a waste of money and data.

Dear god, frivolous use of technology has no place on a high voltage forum! *shields eyes*

Tesla coils actual produce something that can be used by an amateur - high voltage arcs that can be seen.

With a 10Gig camera, what use would all those pixels be. The human eye cannot discern them on a monitor or on a typical sized photograph. In fact, the 10Gig image, due to posturizing, would actually look worse viewed full size on your monitor than a similar sized 5Meg image.

So again I ask you, what would you do with it???

It's not even a digital camera anyway, so meh. It's a film camera and they scan the film when they get home.

I think it's a nice way to show how far digital cameras still have to go.
BTW, roughly how many pixels is google earth?

It is just a matter of price, if you replace the film with a digital sensor the same size the quality would be just as good or better.

If they map everything at 10 cm resolution there would be 5x10^16 pixels but since most of it is water we have to wait for google seabed to be invented.
